Beast & Charisse - Bird Hats
In children's theatre and summer camp theatre, there are often a lot of fanciful character costumes to be created with extremely tiny budgets. For this adaptation of the classic Beauty and the Beast tale, there were two birds, a cardinal and a downy woodpecker who were nearly always on stage as friends of Charisse (the beauty). I cannot provide images of the actors in these costumes as they were elementary and middle school aged children at the time of this production, but I am particularly proud of the way these hats and costumes served to instantly translate for the audience who these characters were with minimal materials cost.
